How to Grow: Mums prefer full to partial sun and good, well drained soil.they have shallow roots so keep them well watered near the surface. Apply a balanced fertilizer on a regular basis. Pinch back the growth to promote a bushy appearance. As fall arrives allow the growth to develop.

Insect and Disease Problems: Disease problems are few, one of the reasons why these plants are easy to grow. Insects like to nest in the l
eaves in the fall, especially aphids.If it is a problem, spray or dust lightly with insecticide or insecticidal soap.

CYLAMEN

Potting Soil: Cyclamen persicum does best planted in a soil-based
potting mix, with the top of the tuber just slightly above the soil line.

Water: Water whenever the soil feels dry. Avoid getting water on the
crown of the plant. As the flowers begin to fade, gradually allow the plant to dry out for 2-3 months.

Fertilizer: Feed with a low-nitrogen fertilizer every couple of weeks
while in full leaf.

How to Grow: They prefer cool temperatures, a rich humus soil
(lots of compost and leaf mold) and partial shade, appreciate full sun
in the spring, but must have semi shade as thetemperatures warm.
They are quite tolerant of being transplanted, even when they are in bloom.

They should be planted in a cool, partly shady area in the garden with
rich, well draining, slightly acid soil (pH 6.5). Primroses need to be
planted so that their crown is right at soil level and at least six inches apart.
